Sand & Sanity

Idea for a new book designed to teach English to Arabic speaking children. It will be fully illustrated relaying on visual recognition and labeling of images to learn new words. Project is in development and this is very much a first draught. Characters need more refining and content is still taking shape, but I’m happy with this test cover design. It will be the first of my illustration projects to be done entirely on computer, although I have scanned in a custom palette of coloured paper samples to give the flat areas a subtle, ‘hand-made’, collage texture. It also runs alone side a series of paper cut outs of Bahrain that I am working on, these are still under warps but I will be opening a virtual gallery on tumblr in a few weeks.
